
AFC Lightning operates a concession stand at the Aaron’s Amphitheatre at Lakewood in Atlanta.
Each summer, the club uses these stands for AFC Lightning members to get involved, work the concession stands, and earn money towards his or her child’s fees.
Each person who works the concession stand has to be “TIPS” trained. This class is free and lasts approximately two hours. Once you pass the class, certification is good for three years.
Here are some basic facts:
- You can raise $1000 per family or more
- Earn on average $10 per hour
- Shifts last around 7-8 hours
- 15+ events available to volunteer to work
- Money raised goes towards fees and other expenses

Tina Emerson, Erin Moroney, and Sue Eutermoser will conduct two informational meetings regarding this opportunity, one at McCurry and one at BSC. Please see the following dates and times:

Q: Training
A: Everyone must take a TIPS Class given by Aramark. The training runs about 2 hours and is good for 3 years. The training schedule will be posted in the near future.
Q:What is my job?
A: You will most likely work at the concession stand window selling food and beverages. Or work at an outdoor small stand selling beverages.
Q: How many hours do we work?
A: You will work from 7 - 8 hours each concert, making approximately $10.00 an hour tax free.
Q: What do I wear?
A: Everyone must wear khaki pants and white sneakers. A t-shirt will be provided at the venue before each concert.
Q: When and how do I get paid?
A: AFC receives a check from the venue which goes directly into your player’s account. The money you make will go to cover the training fees and other expenses related to soccer.
